Amd's ryzen 5000 processors have officially been released. and i was lucky enough that amd sent a couple out. now the interesting part about this generation is that it's the first ryzen series to not only beat intel's cpus and productivity but even gaming in 2022.

THINGS TO DO AFTER RYZEN 5000 PC BUILD

that means plenty of gamers will likely be looking at amd cpus for the first time. so in this Article i wanted to go over the Top first five things to do after your ryzen 5000 PC build.

TOP 5 THINGS TO DO AFTER RYZEN 5000 PC BUILD

starting things off andy's ryzen 5000 cpus were originally announced to only get support for the company's 500 series chipsets.

luckily after quite a bit of backlash amd announced that 400 series boards would get support for their new cpus.

#1 UPDATE MOTHERBOARD BIOS

with that said motherboard vendors won't have the bios updates ready until early next year. that means if you don't have a 500 series board ryzen 5000 isn't supported until 2021.

300 series ports are not supported at all. so with all of that out of the way the first thing to do is to update your bios. if you're coming from an older ryzen cpu make sure to update it before you get rid of said cpu. because you'll need it to install the bios.

to do that head to your motherboard manufacturer's website find your model motherboard then download it to a thumb drive and install it.

make sure it includes support for ryzen 5000 cpus or a new version since they added that support.

then download and install it. most motherboard vendors have an installer tool in the bios so try to use that. usually as new cpus come out new motherboards will state if they're ready for the new series with a sticker or something like that.

if you don't get an updated motherboard or ryzen 3000 cpu amd has loaned out cpus specifically to upgrade in the past. but i'm not sure if they will for ryzen 5000.

#2 DRIVERS & ALL STUFFS

Next thing to do after ryzen 5000 series pc build. after you have the right bios head to amd.com from here go to drivers and support then go down and select your chipset and install the chipset driver. keep in mind that motherboard vendors will list chipset drivers under your motherboard.

but it's best to get yours from amd. after that it's time to download and install ryzen master for those who don't know ryzenmaster's amd's overclocking tool that i will say has really gotten impressive over the years.

a bios overclock is more of a permanent overclock but ryzen master is a great tool to let you easily test how high of an overclock you can get. besides it having to restart windows for a lot of changes it is pretty nice. it also changes the bios for ram overclocks.

#3 INFINITY FABRIC

So those are essentially more permanent overclocks and speaking of memory it's time to tune those clocks or better yet your infinity fabric for those who don't know the infinity fabric is amd's interconnect that connects your chiplets to your i o and other chiplets if you have more than eight cores.

that means the infinity fabric speed determines how much latency there is when the chipsets talk to one another. and your infinity fabric clock is determined by your memory speed.

with ryzen 5000 amd claims that most cpus will get up to 2 gigahertz which is 4 000 ram.

so if your ram can get that high go ahead and try it. though that is technically an overclock so be careful.

otherwise get as close as you can i personally suggest using the xmp profiles in your bios they're quick and easy with decent timings etc.

next you want to ensure your power plan and windows is set to the default balance plan. amd says that their cpus are made to work best with it so you don't need any kind of special power plan like previous generations.

#4 OVERCLOCKING

the next thing to do After Ryzen 5000 PC Build is overclock. it now obviously this is a bit risky i take zero responsibility if something goes wrong. so only try this if you know what you're doing if not i personally suggest simply turning on precision boost overdrive.

as this pushes your cpu just a bit more for added performance at the price of heat. and speaking of heat amd's ryzen 5000 cpus do control heat fairly well and they can offer some amazing overclocking if you have a good enough cooler.

personally i suggest trying incremental all-core overclock starting small and moving up while testing with amd stress test and ryzen master to see how temps handle it.

#5 TEST EVERYTHING YOU DID

finally once you've done all of this and you've got it where you like it it's time to really test everything out. pull up a good temperature measuring software like hw info 64 as well as good benchmarks to test your overclocks. from prime95 or 864 for the cpu and something like memtest86 to test any memory overclocks. after everything is tested and working well it's time to enjoy your brand new cpu.

FINAL WODS

Be carefull while trying anyhting new because it may cause you a big trouble with your data. So that's for today out Top 5 Things To Do After Ryzen 5000 Build.
