All right what is good on you guys welcome to Universal Luxury here today I'm gonna view 7 tips on How to Make Friends as a Transfer Student 2022. I wanted to talk abot this because my school recently published an article called the loneliness epidemic at USC. the article talks about how students try to put themselves out there but they feel like their personality is flawed as a transfer student. I can definitely relate to this. The transition was no easy task, if I'm gonna be honest I'm more of an introvert myself. So let's get to the first one.

How to Make Friends as a Transfer Student
GET ON SOCIAL MEDIA
so the first tip is to get on social media now I know what some of you are thinking that social media is fake and it doesn't do any good however it can be a very powerful tool to connect with people. I recommend choosing at least one of the three Instagram Facebook or snapchat.
think about it this way maybe you vibe with someone after hanging out or you just want to talk with them outside of class you can just ask them for the Instagram handle and connect there.
If you're having a great conversation with someone you can easily get their account information and follow up online you can make group chats organize hangouts.
If you had a great conversation with someone in class and you want to follow up with them during summer break social media is a great way to stay in touch.
GET WHIPPEY IN COLLEGE
Tip number two Make Friends as a Transfer Student is don't get whipped in college you're gonna meet a lot of good-looking people and it's easy to get infatuated and want to start to go out with someone you just met immediately.
now I'm not saying that you shouldn't date in college in fact I know a few people who actually met their current spouses in college. all I'm saying is that you shouldn't just rush into a relationship when you first start college you'll have plenty of time for that in the future.
FOCUS ON MEETING AS MANY PEOPLE
tip number three when you're making new friends do you want focus on quality or quantity. well the answer is actually a little bit of both.
when you don't know anyone as I did try to focus on meeting as many people as possible in fact my first three weeks at USC I didn't say no to go into any hangout or event.
One big thing I try to keep in mind is to not judge people and think that they're not your type or it may be they don't vibe with you.
I can definitely relate to this but after talking to some of these people and having meaningful conversations they actually became some of my closest friends at the end of the day.
you also want to focus on quality they say that you are the culmination of the five people that you spend the most time with and I definitely agree with this friendships.
Take time and effort but think about it this way would you rather have two very close friends or 30 random acquaintances. if you don't have any meaningful connection with to sum up during orientation and when you're first at campus try to meet as many people as possible during this process.
Try to spend time with those whose presence you thoroughly enjoy.
JOIN ATLEAST ONE CLUB
Tip number four is to Make Friends as a Transfer Student join at least one club that isn't part of your major. I know that clubs are a great way to build your resume but I highly recommend joining an organization that you actually enjoy participating and for your own enjoyment.
for me I joined the powerlifting club because that's one of my hobbies a lot of times, I feel like I'm in a bubble where the only people I interact with on a day-to-day basis are those that are in my major.
therefore joining a club is a great way to meet people outside of this bubble in addition to clubs. you can also work in on-campus job and meet more people too.
SPENT TIME ON CAMPUS to Make Friends as a Transfer Student
tip number five is to live on campus or at least spend most of your time there. I know a lot of people that decided to commute as live at home and this really shot them in the foot from a social perspective.
now I understand that living on campus may not be the best option perhaps because it's too expensive if that's the case I still highly recommend that you join a club.
You go to the gym you just do something on that campus so you can meet more people. also don't be an engineering student.
TAKE THE INITIATIVE
tip number six is to Make Friends as a Transfer Student take the initiative and reach out do you guys ever feel like nobody hits you up and that you have to organize every single hang-up. now you know low I felt that too regardless don't be afraid to reach out to people to make group chats and maybe organize some type of event.
It could be going to the gym getting food going to the beach also realize that friendships don't happen overnight it takes months even years to form great friendships and this takes a lot of investment spending time with your friends reaching out to them.
if you haven't heard from them in a while it can be as simple as picking up the phone and being like hey I haven't heard from you in a while how are you doing we should definitely hang out soon something like that.
now I know it takes a lot of effort but if it was easy everyone would be doing it.
WHO YOU ARE PART OF
Finally number seven is to know who you are part of this means being comfortable with being alone. you don't have to always be surrounded with people in order to have a good time.
For example let's say you want to go to a speaker going on campus well you want to try out a new club or activity but none of your friends are going go anyways you're only in college once and you want to make the most out of it.
so get out of your comfort zone also don't change yourself in order to seek other people's validation. I know sometimes you can just feel really awkward in a social situation and honestly you just have to fake it until you make it.
stay true to who you are and don't compromise your self-respect or values for someone else's approval. because real friends don't care about that.
So these are my 7 best tips about how to Make Friends as a Transfer Student. Hope you enjoyed that post & you can share that too with your other social sircle. Also don't forget to share your personal thought.
